About the challenge

With the goal of creating an uplifting space, myNetworkHer[Hacks] invites female and non-binary high schoolers to both promote their own organizations and share their solutions for a more connected world.

 

This hackathon will have an assortment of prizes, virtual and in-person speaker sessions with leaders in the STEM industry, networking opportunities, food and expert judges. Participants are asked to RSVP before the day of the hackathon to gain access to the community Discord, venue, and exclusive content. The myNetworkHer Team is excited to highlight organizations founded by gender-marginalized youth to run workshops and “science-fair style” tables to promote, recruit and share their story. Currently, Hosted by myNetworkHer, an award winning mentorship platform created by two 15 year olds, the hackathon invites participants to present in-person in November in New York City.

 

 

Requirements

Project and Submission Requirements

We are looking for ground-breaking projects that help and highlight gender-marginalized communities. Participants are expected to present their projects by the end of the day.

  • Deadline to submit: Submissions made to DevPost, 3:00pm EST Day Of Event on November 4th, 2023

  • Platforms: Apps, Games, AI projects or other modes are all welcome.

  • Projects must be started and completed during the event

  • Project must not be more than 30% starter code

  • Presentations must be 5 minutes maximum

  • In order to be eligible for the Rookie Award this must be the first hackathon for all team members

 

Judging Criteria

  • Social Impact

    • How will your project improve the world around you sustainably and with purpose?

  • Creativity

    • Does your project have new ideas?

  • Aesthetics and Accessibility

    • Does your project have an enjoyable user interface?

  • Technical Innovation

    • Are you using your IDE or platform as smartly as possible? 

  • Growth

    • Do you have a plan for outreach for your project?
